Well i'm about 8 miles West of Ottawa and about that same East from Pomona. I tell ya its almost the best spot in the world for me but I dont have a single flat piece of land, just all hills.

Can you believe this weather? 67 one day, then 40+ degree drop. Wind chills below 0. I guess the chickens liked the one warm day because I got more eggs than usual today.

CK- I know what you mean about hills. I'm up by Hiawatha, and we don't have a single flat piece of ground. Luckily it's all Iowa loess soil, so corn and soybeans grow well and have great yeilds here. My free range roosters like to cross the road to the neighbor's soybean field and peck around in the cut soybeans. It's fun to watch them.

Too bad they are too stupid to come in out of the weather. Several have badly frostbitten combs.

Hi Wichitans (and others close by....) I recently built an incubator and I'd like to do a test hatch before ordering any expensive eggs (and dealing with hatch rates of shipped eggs). So I'm looking for any old fertile eggs in the Wichita area - it doesn't matter if they're mutts. If you have a rooster and are still collecting eggs this time of year, could I buy a dozen from you?

Hey folks sorry for my absence latelty. I have been dealing with the cops and it hasent been fun. Some kids decided too shoot some of my chickens with there .22 rifle. I seen the lil ass hats shoot one of them but didnt see them shoot the other one. I chased them through the woods for about 30 minutes till we came to the east campgrounds where i lost them. This place out here is that big and everyone here knows everyone so they will be found and I promise you I will deal with them.
