I don't know if it makes you feel any better or not, but the ad does say that the $40 is for the roosters AND the wire cage...

Great storySo, funny story for anyone interested. We butchered a bunch of roos this weekend and I was bringing them up in a carrier and setting them in the shade and we would go and get each bird as we were ready to process it. I was on a roll plucking a bird and DH says I can get the last one out of the carrier. I said ok, just be careful because he is quick. He walks around the corner and I hear the carrier door open and a scream and flapping and then DH says a bad word. He comes around the corner with a sheepish look on his face and I can hear the roo running and screaming back to the backyard. He says "I'm really sorry, it got away from me." I laughed so hard and told him I guess that one was pardoned from being butchered today. It is a little tiny serama cochin cross (product of stealthy broody serama hens) and it had moved in with the big girls several days ago. When we went back he had run all the way back to the pens and jumped back in with the girls! I figured I don't have a roo in there with them right now so they can probably handle him!![]()
Here he is:

What naughty LGD puppies do on their time off...
What? This bag of trash was already over here, I'm not chewing on garbage. No, no you misunderstand. I am just inspecting it for safety purposes....
I was just curious. She is a very dear friend of mine, like a second motherSAPPHIREBLU - yes, her name is Linda from Hutch. I need to call her back today and tell her I'm not going to come out tomorrow to see her pups. I'm really not going to get a dog; I've made my mind based on information and research and it just isn't something for me. Maybe down the line, I'll change my mind, but not now![]()

Hawkeye, oh I'm sorry, I thought they looked familiar, they can't even spell the breed of chicken right.
I just went out earlier to turn on the mister in the grow-out pen & found one of my little lavender Orp/porcelain Isabel chicks dead from the heat, awwhhh I just got those. I guess I'll have to get out there earlier tomorrow to turn the mister on. I've been working my tail off trying to get that other pen done so I can move the bigger chicks out of there & into that one. I'm hoping I can get the dirt moved into the holes & try to get them moved this evening. Even if they don't have a house in there right now I think they would be better off where they have more room. I can at least make them a roost so they can roost off the ground, but they will have to learn to use it first, they haven't had one as of yet. I'm hoping to score a free small dog house to put in there. I have seen several lately, but wasn't able to go get them.
We got the floor painted for the new coop this morning & as soon as I left the area Jasmine went & walked in the wet paint. I told my DH that I knew that they would do that as soon as I left. The other day after we had painted the primer on they walked all over it with muddy feet, so when my granddaughter was here Sunday she went out with grandpa & helped wash it off. She went home & told her mom that she now has a job helping grandpa with the coop. That got a laugh!
Tempting to call them out... but I'm just going to hope that someone wonderful will go get those boys.![]()
