Congrats! I'm sure you won't regret them!My Wellies JUST got here! UPS at 8pm? Wow! Anyway, tried them on and walked around in them and they fit perfectly!!! I'm sooooo relieved and excited! Very happy I don't have to return for another size. I was nearly prepared that would happen. Whew!! Okay, now I can buy boot liners for them. But they do have a flannel lining in them, but not a "cushy" lining, which I was already aware of. People said that for dead of winter, to get the liners. But I suppose if you just wear heavy socks, they would be equally just as fine. They are the perfect height. I almost got the taller ones, but opted for the mid-rise. These hit about mid-shin, so that's about what a typical cowboy boot does. So far, so good! I'll let you know how they perform outside tomorrow!![]()
I was up well before the chickens this morning. DD has a Dr. appointment by Wesley so I had to get all the chicken chores done while getting the kids off to school and getting myself ready. I feel like I've run a marathon but it also feels good to have everything finished so early.
Chick pic for the morning. I picked up 3 Ideal Speckled Sussex, mainly because they are purported to have more white than other hatcheries. The Aloha leader in AZ can't order them until it's too hot where she is so I picked up what they had and will get a few more before she goes to Tulsa in May. Her parents are driving through here, so we figure they can bring me Aloha eggs and take her the Ideal chicks. If it works out fine, if not I can cross them with my Alohas to bring size up a little and improve the spotting. So here they are, and they already have a white wing feather so it looks promising already.
Two cockerels and one pullet, I'm thinking.
