We will be heading to Overbrook for a swap meet, everything makes me believe there is one today.

The swap meet is at the fair grounds.

What breed are the hatching eggs you are bribing with?

Well, I forgot I was making a wedding cake and going to a wedding all day- missed the swap!! It would've been nice to go, thought I'd have to play HazMat when done...

I'll give you some Lakenvelder eggs to go with the boys, or maybe you'd like some Orp eggs? Cuckoo Marans? EE?

Take my boys!

I need poultry intervention: Main pen, Huge Parrot cage with hen recovering from Fox attack!, Small cage with run space for young Welsumers two silkies, and an EE, now have a hen that just hatched some Cinnimon Queens; RIR X White rock. They are so cute, and my back yard is taken over by ducks. (Did I say I love my ducks!) They talk to me when I talk to them; DUCKIES! Quack Quack Hey Mike! Got any feed?
All in all I love my birds. Great eggs that I share, with it seems, everyone. Every day there is something new. Just not sure I can create a new cage for a while. And Darnit I have seen several raccoons on the deck. Guess I need to set the traps. The vultures will be happy!
I am thinking geese next? Maybe Guinnies, or Turkeys!, Oh and now I am a silkie lover maybe another color. The "Ideal" guy is going to be at the feed store here in Bonner at the end of this month. I think I can make a cage by then!

Oh, no! Mike, you need to get an 8'x10' shed and make a wired hallway through it, with separate pens in the 4 corners. Cut a pop hole into each of the 4 corners and have a run off of each section! BOOM! 4 new coops! 4 new breeds!

I'm soooooo bad!!

I'm just getting into the chicken thing. I have 8 day olds coming from MPC on July 13th or 14th, no coop yet (working on that), and a complete novice with chickens. I hope they are patient with me. The people at Bluestem (the local farm store) are enjoying teasing me about drooling over chicken supplies. My daughter (who lives in Nevada with her family, 2 dogs, and 2 chickens) convinced me that I could keep chickens successfully, so I'm off and running.

I talked to the PO today, and the lady said they always called people who got chick orders very early in the morning -- 6:30 or 7 and that they had had an order come in just yesterday.

Glad I found the Kansas thread. I'm halfway between Admire and Emporia. I wish I had known about the swap meet last weekend. It would have been fun. I'll keep my eyes open for the next one, though. I may have to re-home some of the chickens if all 8 are healthy -- I'll only have room for 6, probably.
