Does anyone need any bird cages? My husband went to get one for our parrot and came home with like 12 extra's. All different sizes and are pretty nice. And we have a ton of food dishes and stuff to go with them. I can email you pics if you like. We got them really cheap so you can just make an offer if you want one. They are taking up room in my barn that I want to start redoing.

Oh and we just got back from the fair and had a blast and met some great people. Looking forward to getting my son some birds so he can show in 4H next year. He did great showing though in open class though. He showed in the open class with his mini rex and took best of breed against 30 rabbits. Than place in the top four for best in show against all the top rabbits of each breed. I did well with my open class projects too. I think the longer I live her in kansas the more I like it. The people here are so much fun and so nice!

Okay, locals:

I have these birds to give up: at least 7 Partridge Chantecler, a Golden Lakenvelder, a GORGEOUS Buff Orpington from hinkjc, a Gold-Laced Polish, a Mottled Houdan, and a wonderful Speckled Sussex. All of those are cockerels.

I also have a flock of 5 Cuckoo Marans (only one pullet has French legs, everyone else is clean, including Hansel, the roo) and a flock of 6 Golden Lakenvelders.

I'm entertaining offers on any of the above. I'm swamped and it's only a matter of time before this turns into a freezer-filler. I hate to do that, but we have to survive, and the birds are putting away the groceries!!

Please tell me you want them! The boys can all go free to non-dinner homes, I'm just looking for a few bucks for the flocks. The worst matter is that I raise them to be pets, so they are too nice to eat!!!

I am still interested. But wouldnt be able to make it out for about two weeks..that is my husband next time off. I would be interested in the cuckoo Marons, the polish, the partridge Chantecler, Mottled Houdan and the Buff Orpington. And im sure you could talk me into more. Just let me know how much you were thining. The new coop should be done hopefully this sunday and the kids are super exciting..and so am I. But if you cant wait that long its ok just let me know. Thanks!

kbhear80 - have they gotten the town rebuilt after that horrible tornado? I was through there when there were a lot of buildings still boarded up or tarped. Looked like at that time there was still lots of work to do. But that has been quite a while back and not that long after the tornado had hit.

There are still a few empty lots but most of the town is new. They are hoping to have the schools finished in December. We just moved down here from michigan a few months ago so we missed the tornado. Its a really nice town.
