Orschelens in Manhattan only had the back pack jug of pour-on the other day when I went looking and the 2 sizes of the injectable. As for dogs I've heard of people pouring their farm dogs when they do the calves. And heard of bird hunters using the horse paste, Maybe I'm thinking of using horse wormer on birddogs but I know they just divide it down to the dogs weight.

I believe this is something that you give them orally not pour on in dogs. All I've found in the paste is the big syringe type tubes for horses. Just figuring if I'm going to buy I might as well buy for everyone.

You can use the pour on but I prefer to use the oral . use 1/10 cc per 10lbs .I use the horse wormer to take care of tapes given three days in a row. It will be located next to the pour on and is normally given as a shot to cattle/goats.I just give them a quick squirt in the mouth or you can inject it in a hotdog. It must be given monthly to prevent heart worms.

Okay, I ordered Yellow pinless peepers! I hope they get here fast so I can take down those barred rocks. Actually, I think I will put them on the Wyandottes too... since I can't be 100% sure that it's only the Rocks that are being mean. I've seen the Wyandottes going after my Polish too. Well... We'll see how this works! I hope no more bloody tails! :)

At Atwoods today, I saw the Ivermectin pour on for cattle, but it comes in a HUGE container. The cheapest was $39.99. Sheesh! I think I will be ordering from that link that -- oh gosh, who posted that link a page back for the smaller bottle and a lot cheaper?? Anyway, I'm not going to buy that big cattle sized bottle. I also saw Permetherin-- is that similar stuff? It says it does basically the same thing and it was in a large bottle for only $11. I can handle that. I took a picture of the bottle on my phone... let me see if I can upload it and see what you all think about worming the chickens with it, and if it will work as well as Ivermectin.

I saw that one too but i wasn't sure if it would do the same thing so I bought the 39.99 one last summer. I think it will last me about 200 years with no more birds than I have since it only takes a 1/4 or 1/2 cc per bird. How long is it good for? Does it lose it's effectiveness after time?

Okay, this is what I saw.. I put the pictures side by side so you can see the ingredients and the price... and what the bottle looks like. What do you think??? Will this work, too???

Hawkeye, pinetar works real good on keeping them from pecking the tail feathers.

Thanks, Bama! I think for now, I'll wait on the peeper and use the Blue Kote. But if it gets to be more of a problem, I'll look into that too. It's in the horse section for hooves. I used to always have it on hand, because it's a great conditioner for horse feet-- makes them a bit softer, less brittle. :)
