My tractor is too small for its 7 occupants, so I'm going the new coop route, too. He is supposed to deliver it early next week. It is a metal building 6x8 (much roomier than the 3x4 space they have in the coop part of the tractor, now. I'll have to turn it into a coop (windows, roosts, pop-door, ....), but I think it will be much better for them. We are working on what my DH calls "site prep" right now putting down some gravel and paving stones to rest the beams under the building on when it is delivered.

I just hope the cold weather doesn't beat me to it.

Hmm. maybe. We are usually in Topeka some time on the weekend, and we are both early risers anyway. Maybe my DH will agree to drop in there. Swaps are fun (even just to look around and see what people have).

Newest member from Wichita. Just joined today.
I don't really know a thing about chickens but I came here to learn as I would like to start a small flock sometime in the near furture.
