Premier is a good place to pick up DE, too. When I got it last summer it was 50# for about $30, and it is the good stuff. Food grade "shell flour."

For about a week now I have been letting my banties, giunea, ducks out to free range well I also have two Chukar that are in the same pen. I had gotten to the piont that I was done with the Chukar. I open the door for all of them to run around. The Chukar follow all the birds in and out of the pen. Kinda funny too, because everyone said they will not come back. ..... Well they do...lol

Has anyone else done this, and if so how long did the Chukar keep returning to there pen?

OK, My girls are nearly four months old now so I figure they may start laying soon. I opened up the nesting box for them to get use to it. I have aspen shavings in the roosting area and put hay in for the nest. I figured nature would take over the they would learn to nest. Here is the first day result.

They threw the hay out!

I think one of my pullets is turning into a roo!

It's a little bigger than the other two. Comb is larger and it has some iridescent feathers. Slightly longer and curling tail feathers. And today I saw it trying to jump on the back of one of the other two. Anyone looking for a young americana cockerel? It has to go before it starts crowing!
