Where did Checoukan's post go?!?!??!?! I clicked it!! Anyway-- Checoukan--- YAY!!!!! Looks like you did great down in Pryor! I'm so excited for you! The birds were really looking great! Sounds like you had some good competition, too. Makes it even better!
I sure wish I could have done that one. I was planning on the Oskalooska (sp?!) show next week, and now I have to back out. I WILL be going to the Kansas Classic in Hutch in April though... I don't care what happens!!! LOL!!

Okay-- I think it's going to be a beautiful day out there! I'm DYING to take a horse out but there is no one to watch my Little. I've already been out to play with the birds and check everyone and give them treats. I can't wait until it's warm enough to set up their outdoor pens! (for the silkies...) The layers are always outside! Is anyone else dying to start planting?? I saw trees at Walmart this morning and I just want to dig and plant my little heart out and find all kinds of apple and fruit trees. I just hope we find out where we'll be before Spring is over so I don't miss out on another planting season!

I'm so happy for you and big congrats on the new job! Congrats! It sounds like a really fun place to work! I know my post master has a pretty good time at work, too. But she only has ONE employee with her who is out off and on running the routes. But we're really, really teeny tiny out here. I'm sorry your kids have moved and taken the grandkids. That is a bummer. That is an adorable picture of your dog and your grandson!
Anyone in the Oswego area, come by the post office and say hello. The Lord has blessed me with a really good place to hang my hat for the next few years and I am now your postmaster. I have a great bunch of employees to work with and the stress level has bottomed out, so hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone ~ Tammy

I would mark the air cell with a big circle to show you the boundaries of it on the outside when you candle it. I'm guessing it might be just fine. I have had some really crazy looking eggs go ahead and hatch even after their air cells detached and reattached to the sides like that. But it would be a good idea to keep an eye on it. Once it tries to pip internally-- that is where you could run into trouble. It will need the air sac to breathe. If it can pip into it.... maybe you could poke a tiny hole where it's beak is (once everyone else has pipped internally) and leave it be.... I wouldn't offer it too much help. One of my eggs in the incubator has the air sac on the side - the chick is developing as everyone else and the sac is intact. I'm wondering if the chick will be able to hatch - I'm guessing I'll have to keep an eye on it and help out when the time comes. Anyone ever hear of this - what outcome should I expect?
Oh yikes! How did that hatch turn out? I hope you got more babies out of it. So sorry!I am pretty upset this morning. I had eggs starting to hatch yesterday. This morning I found the hatcher had gotten unplugged. I suspect DH tripped over it and didn't think to check it....but he denies it.

Hope you get some work done on the breeder pens! Pictures?!?! I'm dying for pictures! Can you tell??! hahahaha!I'm so looking forward to the warmer weather we're supposed to have this week. It was still really chilly when I went out awhile ago, it's supposed to be 55 this afternoon though & 69 tomorrow, yay! I'm planning on finishing up my breeder pens this afternoon & getting my SFH & Cream Legbars moved into their new quarters. I'm sure they will be happy to be out of the muddy pen they're in. Tomorrow I'm going to work on my goat pen & a friend is coming to help me, so that will be nice to have someone else to help hold things. It's always nicer to have help than to do things alone, more fun too.
Well you all enjoy your day, my grand daughter is coming this afternoon.
WELCOME!!! So glad to have another person join the group here! This is an excellent group of people here. Congrats on your new birds! I'm sure any of us could hunt up a rooster for you! I've got extras!! hahaha!Hi, im new my name is Derrick from Topeka,Ks Starting a small flock for my 6yr old daughter to enjoy. We have 4 wyandottes(2 gold laced,2silver laced)2 Plymoth barred rock, 3 mystery red pullets, 3 R.I Red .I had hoped for at least one Roo but i think all will be hens![]()
That's great you got your birds moved into new digs!! That's exciting! One step closer to being able to get your breeding program really off the ground... next step are the eggs! Good luck on the goat pen! I'm interested in seeing what you come up with!Today I have a friend coming over to help me this afternoon to put up a pen for my little goat. I hope I have enough materials to use for it because I just have no money right now to go buy more. I had hoped to save the last two livestock panels I have for the hoop coop, but they're going to have to go for the goat pen instead right now. We'll have to get on building the hoop coop before long since I have 25 broiler chicks coming April 15th. I plan to put them in there to stay until they get processed.
Well enjoy the weather today, it's already 55 here now, that was supposed to be our high for the day, it looks like it's going to get warmer than they thought. I'll take it, I am so done with winter. We do have two colder days after this, but then another warmup. I am so ready!
