Oh Grrrr!

I've been waiting all morning for a person to call to say they were on their way to come get the lemon cuckoo orpington chicks I have. I have held them the last two days with a verbal guarantee they would buy them. So they wait until 11:00 AM after saying they would be here this morning to call and say the changed their mind. I have someone else planning to come later this afternnon for some lavenders and someone else on Sunday wanting some. I sure hope they don't back out as well.
This gal said her husband was having surgery in a couple weeks. And would call back after he had recovered. I certainly hope I have no more to offer her then. I need to move these birds ASAP.

So, since Drama is now a roo (quick gender change there!) - how do I find a good home for him? Craigslist? For free? Do I charge $15, more or less, for him? If I charge, am I more likely to find someone that will keep/raise him instead of eating him? If I do free, more people would be interested.... I think I'm a bit attached to that bird. :)
zig zag yep that certainly looks like a roo. I think I can see saddle feathers forming on him. Brahmas are awesome birds. I would think someone who isn't restricted would love to have him. I got my original brahmas from cackle as well and they are awesome quality for hatchery birds.

You could put an add on Craigslist or join this group where you would more likely sell him to be a breeder. https://www.facebook.com/groups/275183675880038/
I certainly wouldn't price him over $7-$8 at most. Most roosters just become stew unless someone is needing a breeder.
Deb there are two classes of Polish. There are standards and bantams. So it would depend on which you had.

Thanks - I'm not a Facebook user so that leaves me with CraigsList. I just put him up for $5. We'll see what happens.

Well day 3 in a row of the crested legbar laying i guess all the eggs are comming from her any one have some thoughts on this?

Hello all! I have been lurking for days since I first found this thread. I am a newbie and just got a new shed that we are turning into a chicken/turkey/goose house. I am planning on using pine shavings as my litter and have heard that it is a good idea to sprinkle some food grade DE in it. I went to Orschlen's and saw a bag of DE in with their chicken stuff so I bought it. I am confused now because it does not say "food grade" or "feed grade". It is Manna Pro Pure DEfense. According to other posts on here it appears that I should not use this in my chicken house. I guess that I will have to return this and look for another brand somewhere else. I was wondering when you all get your food grade DE at? I can find it online but the shipping is horrible.

Thanks for any advice. When I get my feathered friends all settled in I plan to visit and chat often but right now they are just keeping me too busy.
