My turkey came out when she heard me out opening pens. I have no idea where she hid last night. I thought about shutting her up but instead I let the others out. I just need to make sure I put them to bed before it gets too late. I sure hope she hasn't decided to find a place to nest. They are still laying. They really need to take a break.
Trish I usually towel dry the birds and lay them on their sides and use the hair dryer on them while I fluff their "hair". The little downy stuff dries fairly easily but the long feathers take longer. If you keep fluffing them then you know you aren't getting them too hot and you can judge how far away to put the hair dryer.
I've lost too many birds to this stupid mud. I lost two more young ones earlier this week that were so stuck in the mud I didn't find them until they were mostly decomposed.
I need to get back out there and do some more coop cleaning but I sure don't feel like it. I would love to just take it easy all day.
