I am selling my breeding stock. They were supposed to go this week but the buyer cancelled until Monday. I have eggs in the incubator and a few I believe are due to hatch tomorrow and then more on the 15th if I remember right. Send me a pm if you think you'll be interested. Trish also has some but she'll have to let you know if she has any available right now.

Oatbucket, I'm not sure where you're located, Danz has lavenders & I do too. I have a few chicks right now. I'm trying to stop hatching by the end of June, it was going to be May but I have a friend wanting chicks that I'm going to have to hatch special for her so it got moved up a month. I will still be hatching a few eggs for myself, but I need a break from hatching & selling chicks for awhile. Those little critters suck down the feed faster than anything I've ever seen.

Update on the little gosling: he's up walking around today eating & drinking, yay! I'm just glad I found him when I did. I first thought it was the female but when I went out to get the other one I figured out it was the male that got stuck in the mud. They're living in a modified hoop coop with the ducks so it of course gets muddy in there when it rains. We had a big rain & it was muddier than usual right by the front & side & that's where the little guy got stuck & couldn't get up. He lost some of his fuzz on his neck, so it kind of looks ugly now, but it will grow back. They don't have their feathers yet, so if they get wet they can't control their body temp well.

Danz, I'm sorry things have been so crappy lately for you, we'll all wish you better luck.

tweety I guess you were posting when I was, I'm sorry about your car. That's a real pain to have to car shop, I hope you can find one you like quickly.

My hen is better. When I got home yesterday after work, she almost looked normal. Her neck no longer droops from time to time and she was able to hold it up. She ate like a trooper and also pooped like a trooper. LOL. I see that water was being splashed out of the little waterer so I think she is able to drink a little from it. I did get the parrot's formula and made a paste for her. She ate some of it last night. Then put St. John's wart in her water. She was quite feisty last night when I tried to give her Vit. E. All good signs. I'm quite happy with her progress. If she continues to make good progress, she will be able to rejoin her coop mate later this week or weekend.

I am like Danz, I need my luck changed for the better. Car is totaled so I've to look for another one. I do not like car shopping. Actually I don't like any kind of shopping. Any where there is crowd, I tend to shy away from. I'm a homebody and some what of a loner, I guess.

We may be getting more rain tomorrow night and Thursday. The mud is stinky but I know we need to rain though.

I spent my afternoon planting about 70 some day lilies I had ordered. I had planned to put in a new iris bed and put the daylilies where the iris were. But the Iris are just finishing blooming and of course I haven't even started a new bed for them. So the day lilies went here and there and some even ended up in the veggie garden until I can get more organized.
I've had a broody hen out front for weeks in the flower bed. Today I noticed that you could smell rotten eggs. She happened to get up to go eat while I was out there so I checked her eggs. They were all full term but died in the shell. I am sure they got drowned the last couple storms we had. So I replaced her rotten egg with 5 eggs from my hatcher. I have no idea if they will go ahead and hatch but at least one of them was pipped. This way if she does hatch chicks at least they will be pure bred. If their chances were a little better I'd slip her some more chicks to raise. But I really can't afford to loose too many.
I expect them to hatch within 24 hours if they are going to. At least she won't be totally left without anything to show for her dedication now.
I just got in from feeding after all that work outside. I am a sweaty mess. That humidity was insane. I figure I jinxed the rain and now we won't get any since I got things planted.

The humidity was crazy out where I am. This far west, it's usually a little bit drier, but today it was air you could wear.

I started my first flock of chickens this Spring. It's amazing and exciting how fun it is and how my family has responded. I think our 8 chicks get more attention in one form or another than anything else now!! I never thought we would become attached to chicken! Glad to have found "Consolidated Kansas" for insight and questions!

Trish, so glad to hear that your gosling is dong well. That's the thing with rain.... if doesn't just rain a little or just enough, it rains buckets. Danz, that's a lot of daylilies. My son was too ambitious about planting bulbs this spring but all he planted so far was the elephant ear. And that's just 1 big bulb. LOL. The rest of the bulbs are still inside the house. Speaking of that, I should really check to make sure they are still OK and plant them out this weekend. My son proudly informed me yesterday that there seem to be a new broody in the nest box. Apparently she has been sitting in there for 2 days. I really don't need chicks right now since I'll be gone starting next week and won't be back until 1st week of July. But I may need to put a couple of eggs in there just for her to hatch so she won't be sitting there hogging the precious nest box space forever.

You are right about can't do car shopping online. I tried to get some quotes from a few car dealerships here in town and all they wanted me to do was to visit them in person and test drive the cars. I even told them I need to compare different models with the options and go from there. They just completely gloss over that important details.

I think my little hen is ready to go back to her flock mates. I have grown attached to her these last 2 days. She is such a character. Now she is even more feisty when I give her the Vit. E. So I think she had her last dose last night given that she is doing so well. I may just keep her in 1 more night to make sure she is eating and drinking well. But it is unfair to her since all her flock mates are roaming every where having a blast outside while she is being cooped up inside a dog kennel.

Not much luck with my car shopping (online). Coworkers told me to wait for another month or 2 and the 2015 models will come out so the older models will go on sale very soon. I really don't need a brand new car. Just one that fits my needs and runs. I do hate having car problems (mainly because I am not mechanically inclined.. LOL) so I do prefer newish model just so I don't have to worry about getting the car in the shop often. Car shopping is such a pain...

If you like steamy weather, enjoy it.

Welcome to our forum. We'd love to see pictures of your flock and your coop and hear about anything you wish to discuss. Chickens are great and can win our hearts over easily.
Tweety there are several on line forums on car features and reviews. I intended to buy a new car when I started shopping but realized what I wanted and what I could realistically afford were on two separate ends of the spectrum. I am glad I made the decision to buy a used car. If you don't have a new car preference the program cars are excellent choices. You can often get them with a full warranty and a very reduced price. If you can find a dealership owned car....one that the business used, they are often the best bargains. They are well cared for and clean and all the maintenance has been done.
I have to go get feed again today. I lost several hundred pounds from my last load because it got wet. What a tremendous loss.
The daylilies I bought were all named and special colors. I do the same with iris. I don't buy them to impress other people... I buy them to enjoy myself. I'm so easily entertained.
At the time it seems like a lot of money but comparatively a night out is pretty costly any more. I can get a ton of enjoyment for a lot less in the long run. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.
