Grain Gypsy, welcome! Mine do love their treats and like everyone said, use the same call every time. I use my Mom's call: chick, chick, chick! Mine especially love strawberries from our strawberry patch in the summer.

Prairie Fleur, when my Mom was sick it seemed so strange that life kept happening all around me when it felt like it should go on "hold" while I tried to cope. It is very overwhelming and it is okay to hang onto that hope for a miracle. After all you may be the ones who get one!

Exactly!! Thanks for the support!! It means a lot! After getting test results back yesterday, it looks lik the cancer hasn't spread as far as we thought. I feel like we've already gotten a bit of a miracle in that. :bow Some of the things the Drs had said had led us to believe that it was much worse. We continue to pray for complete healing. It feels like we can continue with life tho and that not quite everything has to stop.

My broody hens have comandeered the two favorite nest boxes and seem determined to sit. They haven't left the nest boxes at all for several days as far as I can tell. I gave the first hen some eggs a day or so ago and I'm trying to decide how many to give the second. For some reason my eggs that I put in my bator haven't been developing or else they stopped. Don't know whats up. Most of the eggs are obviously fertilized. Can the roo have bred the hen and the egg appear fertile but he's shooting blanks or something? The eggs I got from thndrdancr are developing perfectly so I don't Think it's my bator but I could be wrong. I was sure hoping to hatch some of my own out so I'm just trying to figure out what the issue might be.

). He is in the Manhattan area.

I had a very busy day. Went to a ladies 90th birthday party today. All of my sisters came so people thought we were relatives. Well just about. She had been my Mom's best friend when all of us were little. When my Mom passed away she told me she'd be my Mom. Very sweet person.
Prairie I'm glad you got some positive news. I hope things are looking up.
I emptied my incubator this morning. Keep in mind this is a full sized GQF hatching tray and the chicks are stacked on top of one another. I also added another 10-15 more as they dried today. And I have a few more to hatch.

My crew around here wouldn't know what to do with that many chicks - they'd be so happy. How you know what's what is beyond me... I'm happy to be able to tell that there are some ducks in there.

Prairie, glad to hear things are looking better.

DH and I have been very busy getting the raised beds and watering system done. Then I was ready to do some planting and I got part of it done but more to go. I am so sore from all the bending and stooping, it's just ridiculous. It was worth it!
