Hey @ChooksChick how are things going? I just got some Welsummers this spring that I plan to breed next spring but I already have two roosters, sorry. It seems like you always have plenty of extra roosters around. I have several I need to part with myself right now. I wish you luck finding yours a home.

I'm sorry about your bird lizzy. Sometimes they just can't overcome the injuries.

Sorry about the injured bird! That always makes them more endearing when you give special care, which in turn makes the loud more upsetting.

I don't keep any breeders at all anymore. Gave everything away because hubby's cancer, then I had issues, and even this week an emergency appendectomy.
Kids are grown and moved, no help when it's more burdensome, so I'm down to what's on my suburban homestead. Fella must go or I'll get a $500 ticket. I'm happy to let him take his favorite girl, free to any who wants them. I hope everyone is doing well. I work 12-14 hours, 6 days a week, trying to pay off cancer bills. I have no time for anything, it seems.

@ChooksChick I had read about your DH on FB, I was sorry to see that. I wish I was closer, I would take the Wellies, but it's a long ways for me. I hope you find them homes soon. I'm sorry you had to give up your breeding birds, I know you had worked on some for a long time.

Hey, everyone! It's been forever since I have been on. We have had a crazy busy summer. Anyway, I have some welsh harlequin drakes and one golden cascade I am looking to rehome and thought I would have the best luck on FB. I haven't been on FB for almost a year and logged on to find out that FB has banned animal sales since I was on last. So...any suggestions from those of you who sell birds? How do you do it? I have posted several craigslist ads and have had some response, but nobody has followed through. I am not opposed to butchering them, but was just hoping to avoid the work...lol. We tend to butcher and then they sit in my freezer unused because I just can't find the time to deal with them.

@TeeMom yes FB did ban animal sales but they have not shut down all of the swap groups. They have made it harder for people, you have to be a bit more creative with ads now but I still have two groups, a poultry swap & a farm animal swap going. If you want to know some tips on putting up ads on there send me a PM. I don't have a lot of luck with selling things on CL either to tell the truth.

It's really quiet here with Danz gone & recovering from her surgery.

I went away for a weekend last weekend & came back to a hen having hatched 4 chicks. The sneaky thing had hidden the eggs from me so I didn't even know about them. I thought I had been taking all of the eggs away from them & she had another nest I hadn't found. By the time I got the chicks though there were only 2 left because they had escaped the pen & the cats got them. I moved the remaining two to my chick growout pen & then during that first night one of them got smothered under the other chicks in there so now I have one. It's hanging around with two other young chicks I brought outside now.
