Does anyone know if sweetgrass turkey's are showable variety

Darn. My son wants some turkeys to show, I think i still might get a few cause they are really pretty. Im still having some trouble finding turkeys so i think i might order some from porter's. They are taking order's for next layin' season..would anyone else be interested?

I am so excited to see a thread devoted to Kansans! I live in rural NE kansas... And I am a new mommy to 18 RIR 3 week old fuzz balls!

I am in love with them!! We are crazily working on their coop... Any suggestions for anything special to add into the coop for the weather/climate of Kansas??? I look forward to getting to know you all!

I am also from NE part of Kansas ..

My RIR's are almost 5 months old (no eggs yet) -- Guess I'm a "new egg" 'cause these are my 1st ever. I learn something new almost daily.

This site is very helpful and will answer a lot of your questions.

You might take a look at my BYC page for hints about a lot of chicken stuff- in general, I can't stress enough how important it is to build as though evil 12-year old boys with sticks and tools were going after them, because a hungry raccoon at night is about that clever and dangerous. If you don't have power to your coop, you might consider how the winter cold will be managed. Also, how you will deal with frozen waterers- it's brutal if you have to haul it very far.

Hey welcome to BYC. I'm fairly new here myself. My girls are almost 6 weeks old, and I've been obsessively reading these forums since the middle of June. I'm also from rural ne KS, so we are sort of neighbors
