How many vents do you have open? How far open are they? It doesn't take much ventilation at all in order to be enough.
Are you using a GQF incubator?
Are you sure your hygrometer is working?

Gosh, it doesn't take much at all to get the humidity in mine up. It does use quite a bit of water, though. I don't have the auto water system, so I add some to the pan every day.

My old incubator couldn't hold a steady temp, but boy could it hold the humidity. If the humidity would drop too low, I would add one teaspoon of water. That would bump it up to the level it needed to be.

I don't know Renee' some of them were really out there. A lady took her rooster swimming in her pool with her and said he was her soulmate. Some were pretty normal. Even the guy who was acting out being a rooster was ok...

Next time I get back to civilization, I'll look for those terracotta pebbles. I do save all my old terra cotta pots that break to use as drainage material under plants, so I might be able to come up with a few to try. I don't really understand this whole thing because this is a GQF hatcher identical to the incubators and they seem to get right up there with just a pan of water. I've got to be missing something. I've regulated which vents to open and how many but it doesn't seem to make any difference. It's the same atmosphere and temp for both.
As far as nutty people with chickens go I don't do bazarre sex acts with my chickens or anything, but I am sure I am nuts. I think it's one of the obsessive compulsive things. I'm a chicken hoarder!!!!!!!!!

I missed that part, I gave up on it at 44 min in. Now that was pretty good. Good silkie momma!
