Yes, I believe he needs an early night! He looks lost and tired. Can't wait to see him all growed up

Hi, sorry to jump in being from Missouri, I have had a lady contact me needing duck eggs because of her sons chicken egg allergy. We will be meeting this weekend, but are actually about 2.5 hours apart, just so happen to be going to KC both this weekend. I was wondering if any of you closer to Osawatomie would happen to have ducks still laying? I told her I'd ask here. If so, just pass on your info to me (I'll check this thread or you could pm me) and I'll send it to her. Thank you,

Julie P in West Central, MO

I hear you on the Christmas of 09. I am retired and I was snowed in for 3 weeks off and on in December. It was WONDERFUL.. My DH has a 4WD truck, and he could get out to work and bring food, and I just stayed home and enjoyed the winter. I'm in a different position this year because I'm subbing for a very ill colleague for most of this year. I'll have to be able to get out to go to school. I may have to park the car and ride with the DH.

We were snowed in for a full week that Christmas, and several other times that winter. I swear we get more snow in this corner of the state than anywhere else, and if it blows just a little bit in these hills we are stuck. One year, can't remember which, we had 20 foot drifts over the road. We have some pretty steep hills, and when they finally got the road plowed it was only one lane wide. The snow was piled higher than the car on both sides, and there was a "track" down the middle. It got icy and slick, so when we went to go down that last hill to the house, it was point the car down and hold on. It was very much like going downhill in a bobsled! Once you started there was no stopping till you got to the bottom and partially up the next hill. It made for an interesting winter.

Think this is normal???? I noticed this morning that there are some really runny/watery poos in my cockerel's area. Most of it looks fine, but is that a sign of stress? Or just normal to have that now and then? It all looks like it's the right color.

He may be compensating for having had a lot to drink when he first arrived and was dehydrated.

Keep an eye on him and if you can, get some baby parrot formula to mix 50/50 with his feed. It's concentrated nutrients and probiotics.

Danz, if you have boxes (any old kind) to put the guineas in and can find some for six hens for CanChaser, I could pick them up on the way back from Wichita on Friday afternoon.

CanChaser, if you can come get the hens in Lawrence Friday evening, I can bring them that far for you. Make payment arrangements with Danz, and it would work!

Katy, if you're lurking, I lost your phone number!! Call me?
