Marty, I don't live in Waverly. I actually live out really close to Wolf Creek. I only have a Waverly address. If I lived a half mile south I would have a Burlington address. It's crazy the way things are divided.
I only have some black silkies. They aren't anything special for sure. If I could pick up some quality breeders I might do so but for now these are kind of a side project. If you were still interested we could work something out. I never know from day to day or week to week what I am going to be breeding next. I always have some young pullets or hens around. I save a lot of my leftover cross breeders just to produce eating eggs. Personally some of those are the best layers and are some of my prettier birds.
Not implying you don't know this since you've had goats, but I might suggest if you are wanting to get small goats for milking to go with Nigerian Dwarfs rather than pygmy's. I've had both. The Nigerians are actually a milk goat and are smaller than the pygmies. They really fill their bag with milk and almost always have twins so you can double your money with them. If you take a trip to Yates Center to their exotic animal auctions it's a pretty good place to pick one up pretty cheap. I sometimes wish I'd kept a little female just to have milk for the pups. They are about to have an early spring sale. Things either go super high in early spring or super low. It all depends on the weather. I personally prefer to buy goats in the fall cause everyone is trying to downsize for winter.
Hawkeye you don't give yourself enough credit. You are awesome! Like Bama said these are your first eggs. Give them a little time to practice and they'll get it right.
