I can see now who's dog that is going to be.Britt will fit in nicely with Runt and Buddy.I could tell Mike was really happy about get a pup to go along with Buddy and Runt. They both are real sweet dogs. That's why my wife fell in with them. Can't wait to see them in person and meet Chicken Danz.

Bama-- did you get a Danz puppy too??? They are the cutest things ever!!!

Yes,we are getting one of the pups.My wife fell in love with them after she saw Buddy and Runt.

That's great!! I hope you'll post puppy pictures when you pick yours up!!! :)

So today I got the first coat of paint on the mini coop-- inside and out. It needs one more coat, and I'm good to go. I didn't get out there and put the roof on-- too dang windy and cold! I finally got out there to paint, but it was blowing all over. I got paint all over me.

Got dinner cleaned up and now making cupcakes for school tomorrow. A mom's job is never done. Sigh.

OH!!! And GUESS WHAT!?!? I could just scream!! I used up two of my silkie eggs that I got yesterday-- one was not fertile, as expected. The other one?!?! Fertile!! ARGHHHH! Zorro might have done it! It's from my black silkie. The splash is still infertile. It was a HUGE bullseye! I wish I had taken a picture of it! I should have!! I was so shocked and amazed, I scooped it back out of the cupcake batter with a spoon just so I could look at it better. And now potential chickie is getting baked in with my cupcakes... Bwahahahaha!!

Well I finally got a pic of my new hen that I got at the Yates Center sale. She made herself a nice little nest to sit in inside of the crate. So Candace is she like your gold penciled hamburg? That's what she looks the most like to me. She sure makes a strange chicken noise like I've never heard before.

And here is a basket of my pretty eggs. I know it's a little early yet for Easter, but I'm ready now, I have my picture to use for my avatar when it's time. I wouldn't let my DH eat any of these eggs until I got my pic taken.

Well Danz, maybe I should have had you bring some of your fertile eggs for that gal. I tried saving her a dozen & I have candled them & don't see a thing in any but one possibly. It sure seems like I should have gotten some fertile ones as busy as my two main roosters are all the time. I guess I'll have to try again with another batch.

Oh my goodness.. I just got back from Orschlens. They chicks were so darn cute. I could have stayed in there for hours looking at them. It was really hard to resist. I did notice that quite a few had pasty butt, so at least I know what that looks like now. I tried mentioning it to the lady that was working and she stated that "no, hun.. they are just dirty". Ok. whatever. LOL.

I grabbed myself a 40lb bag of chick starter since I realized after reading on here that the small 5lb bag isn't going to last very long. I also grabbed a plastic waterer in case I ever need to add vinegar to it. They didn't have any Blue-kote left and didn't know what VetRx was, so i'll go check out TSC this weekend. I want to get those to have on hand just in case.

tweety, you did really well resisting those little fluffy butts. I'm trying really hard to stay away from anywhere they have chicks right now for fear I'll bring some home. I got to counting all the ones I have ordered from the hatchery & the CO-OP & I really don't need any more chicks, so I just need to stay away. Yeah the girl in the Orschelyn's probably didn't even know what you were talking about most likely. Those people for the most part just sell the chicks, they don't know that much about them. I really do need to go get some of that chick starter though while it's on sale, ack, how can I do that & get by the chick bins without looking.

Tweety,
The vetrx is in a orange an yellow box, you can not miss it. Just make sure you get the poultry box they do make it for other animals. It smells like vicks or something along that line. It does have a paper inside you should read. Tells all about the product, and how to use it. I forget, and don't have the box or paper her, but that stuff has been being made since forever.

Candace - thank you for that info - you have a very interesting web page. I'm glad I asked the question - I'm not one to rush into something without thinking it through thoroughly first.

TSC, is caring some new products made by Manna Pro. I bought some so I could try them out. They had Rooster Booster, poultry conditioner, and a couple other products. Might be worth checking them out.

I was thinking, ya know, might be fun if we tried to put together an ebook here on byc on different things we all do to treat our birds. Feeding, treatments, waterers, emergency's, hatching, brooding. If we all contributed, might be one heck of a reference guide for everybody. Just a thought.

Trish, this must be a cross, as hamburds have a rosecomb. Maybe a golden campine.
