Hey Checoukan-I've got some boxes packed for you!
It looks like DH, Ry and girlfiend and I will be down Aug. 5th. It depends on when Ry gets here, so that may change.. DH and Ry want to go to the demolition derby at Falls City on the 4th. Timing might not work out for the one down there.
Welcome to all the newbies! It's good to see new people are interested in poultry and BYC.
I agree with Danz and Checoukan. Herding dogs are for herding, not guarding.
Hawkey-I tried to ask this before, but my whole post was lost. I read how your birds did at the fair, but I didn't read how your son did in showmanship. Great pictures, BTW.
So sorry for everyone that has lost birds to heat and predators. I did loose a couple of my best birds during the very intense heat. I think there just wasn't enough ventillation in those corner pens.
Hello to everyone else. Gosh, there has been so much posted it's hard to remember who all said what.
I've been getting ready for 2 auctions, a move across the state, changing jobs etc. I am happy I got a lot done yesterday, but it just makes me realize how much more there is to do. Sometimes I think I should pare down a lot more! I actually had thoughts of selling ALL my chickens this morning, but I really don't want to do that so I won't. I am, however, going to sell a few more things.
Anyone interested in a GQF cabinet hatcher? Checoukan, you know the one. This is an older one. It is RED. This thing has run like a top ever since we got it. It keeps great temps and has never given me any problems whatsoever. It's just older and uglier than the new ones. I would keep it, but gee, I just really don't need two of them. At our new place I probably won't be hatching in the numbers that I have in the past, so I guess I don't need it. I will be asking $300. for it. All the parts are standard GQF.
