Consolidated Kansas

Yes there was a couple of huge feed recalls. Mostly chick starter. Just a few of the brands that were included were Purina, nutrena, dumor, Orchlen's house brand etc. There were two separate problems. One had the wrong balance of vitamin D and the other had too high of a toxin or fungal count. Just what we needed on top of grain prices going up. The price jumped from $10.99 to $14.99 for orschlen chick starter in a matter of weeks.
Rosie, did you end up buying any of those Sabastopols?
How's things going with Susie? Is she getting the move situated. Any offers on their house yet?
I have 9 of the 10 lavender orp eggs hatched now. One of them had to be helped out of the shell and I'm not sure he is going to straighten up. He's still in the hatcher right now. I think he was stuck in position just a little too long. He has one wing tip out of the pip hole and couldn't turn any more.
I've also had a couple more baby ducks hatch.

Hi, Danz, Susie and Mike have sold the land. They have not put their house up yet she is waiting for an interview in Parsons.
I did not get the sebbies, was waiting for some reason, and just well did not buy them, I may get a hold of him and make an offer.

Hope the lavendars do ok, sounds like they have a good start, the late one probably will not straighten out, you hatch more than I do.
Heard some sneezing outside, better go sit an see who did it. This darn hot weather is hard on everything. Being so dusty, don't want any thing to come up respriatory wise, and it sure can happen now.
going to offer some of my yearling rosecombs up for sale so I have room for my babies to get ready for show. How I hate to sell just to make room. Hurry new barn can't wait for you to be done so I can move my into my new digs!!!

I have tons of birds I really have to sell. But with the heat no one wants to buy anything that isn't ready to eat. I'm trying to decide if the drought is going to cause a shortage on hens because so many died in the heat, or if the higher priced grain is going to keep people from getting chickens. I do wish I could figure out what the best route to go is. I will feed them for another month or two if I need to but if they aren't going to bring anything but eating prices what is the point?
I just keep hoping for a few weeks of miracle rain!
Tell Ivy I wish her luck with her interview and I'm thinking of her even though she is busy these days.

I will, she just has been so busy, and with her crazy schedule, she just does not have any time at all. But, I will tell her to drop a line on here so everybody know she is ok.

What do you want to sell? I would love some more d'Uccles if you have them, and I'm so far in the hole all ready, a few more wouldn't hurt. But then again, I'll have to talk to my parents.
