Sunflower, regardless of cost, you need to get that pup the care it needs. It could literally save you thousands of dollars in the coming years by protecting your animals. You wouldn't decide to not pay for care a child needs. And a pup is so much like a child. It depends on you for it's welfare. I personally would have contacted a vet last night because she could have gone into shock. In that respect, I guess you are lucky. I do hope it pulls through and a broken leg is the only injury.
I understand money situations all too well. Most vets will let you make payments on a large bill though.
Trish and others, I forgot to mention. Why not buy some Preventic collars for your dogs. They are wonderful!!! They work much better than other things. You need to get them down as close to the skin as you can. You can't ignore those seed ticks. They are so tiny and can get in tiny crevices like between the toes and on a GP you wouldn't even be able to see them well under that hair. They can attach by the hundreds. They can also kill your dog by making it anemic. And if you are getting bitten you need to watch your health very carefully. If you start thinking you have the flu be sure to tell the doctor about the tick bites.
Just the mothering me here so forgive me for giving un-asked-for advice.
