Constantly getting errors.

I’ve been stalking this thread a bit… I’ve gotten quite a few error notifications over the past few weeks, I just assumed it was because my pfm ran out. The page will freeze up, and then reload, giving me a message that says “something went wrong and the page was reloaded.” After this it usually goes back to normal for a bit. I’m on an iPhone running iOS 16, using Safari.
I know what phone you have. You need to update it. Now.

It started with the 'join us' pop up.
While it may seem connected, this is actually not accurate. The join-us popup was way before this issue started, and the popup code does NOT even load for logged-in members.

And now with the double pop up asking to allow for push notifications the freezing got even worse.
I am using Firefox on Android phone ( not the app as it does not work) and Firefox on laptop.
I'll add this to the notes, but this is highly unlikely the issue.

Ok, some great news/updates:

Another friend of mine that has forums running on the same software is also experiencing the same problem. He also runs the same advertising stack that we run. After a lot of collaboration and back and forth, we've 90% identified the issue to be with our advertising partners.

We've brought them / their techs into the discussion and they are troubleshooting the issue in more detail.

We initially removed advertising as a potential problem because ads don't load for PFMs, and they were having the problems just as much as non-PFMs.

It turns out that even though ads weren't showing, some of the ad code was still loading in the background. We think this is the problem (not just PFMs, but all users).

So here are the two things that we have and are doing and plan to do:

1) We've FULLY removed all the ad-code for PFMs
2) We are working very closely with our ad partner, Comma, who is a fantastic crew of people, to identify and fix the specific problem. They believe they have a fix in place, but are going to keep testing and reviewing.

So, if you're a PFM (and logged-in) you should NOT have this problem anymore.

If you're not a PMF, we're hoping this problem has been resolved and/or will continue to get better ASAP.

If you are a PFM, please clear your browser cache and reload BYC. Let us know if the problem continues.

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but wow, BYC is moving at lightening speed now!! :woot (of course I had better knock on wood, 2 minutes from now all the pages might be slow and freezing up.🤣)

I had just opened, let me count... 13 pages, so I'll clear my browser, log out, and go from there after I'm done.

I did notice in the past couple of days that I did not get one frozen page, but just a few minutes ago, a picture I posted loaded, then disappeared. I refreshed, and it was back again.

I'll see how it goes after I get done and log out.

One of them I had open, got this. There was a picture in between these two that didn't load. I refreshed and it loaded. I'm going to log out, clear cache, reboot, and if you never hear from me again, my computer exploded. :gig
