construction of my pen/coop, suggestions welcomed

just some pics to update,...

We're Almost Done !!!
About the only thing left to build on the coop is the pop door, paint, and maybe a second window.
I remember seeing a link to someones "Ventilation page". I'll have to find that and read it through to determine if I need more.

The Removable Plastic Poop Decks are all completed...

I built a Feeder, (still need to make a Waterer)...

My Daughter seems to be pleased with it, and wants to help, so today she is going to be put to work with paint brush...

After that, I'll start working on the coop feeder, waterer, lights, and misting system.
Soon we should be ready for a load of sand,
and maybe even some birds!

OK, hopefully this is the final "installment" on my construction thread....

It may not all be Perfect, but...

it's done, It's Done, IT'S FINALLY DONE !!!

After reading more on proper ventilation,
The upper gable boards have been replaced with a more open air flowing grill...

The Poop Decks are re-worked AGAIN, (for the 3rd time).

The Litter Boards are on, and working well.

The Pop Door is in the side, and working great, and comes complete with a nice little extra...

IMG_1331.jpg

The ""Veranda", ...
is finished with a nice Oak Railing.

I'm sure the girls will look forward to some nice warm summers evenings, nibbleing on some crackers and cheese, sipping on a cool glass of wine, and watching the pretty sunsets ...

here's me with my favorite, "Helga", at 6 weeks old...
She has a sweet disposition, and just wants to "hang out"...

next is the installation of the overhead misting system,
the PVC gravity feed feeders,
the low pressure watering cups system,
the automatic temperature activated window controller,
and the Run getting a treatment of 3/4 rock perimeter, then completely filled in with a 4" bed of sand,
satellite TV, and some nice cool jazz piped into the nesting boxes, with an occaisional classic rock number js to keep it fun.

do hens like Disco Balls in the coop ????
