Ended Contest #11 - Dustbathing Contest 6th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong

I know that I'm not eligible to enter (why only US residents? It doesn't cost a fortune to post a cookbook overseas, and a golden feather membership is valid worldwide!)

Even so, I wanted to share my photo. These were three girls I bought as point of lay, on the second day they were allowed to free range in my garden after their quarantine. I promise you - they're not dead - they're just so happy to be out that they threw dust around until they were so exhausted they fell asleep in the warm earth! (I must point out that they had a large dust bowl in the pen during their quarantine, but it's just not the same thing as a whole garden border to roll around in!)

I, for one, am glad you shared! =)

This is one of my little faverolle hens.. we have an extra small coop that goes unused but this little one loosened the dirt in there and goes in to be alone and dust bathe.
