My Buff Hen and her only Duckling to survive the floods that went through OK, her eggs got washed out of her nest the day befor hatch but this little sweetheart managed to stick around and hatched the next morning.

This is little Cookie. She was my daughter's little hen that she specifically picked out of the bin at tractor supply when we first got chickens (the only bantam we had). She was a broody extraordinaire. Unfortunately, we found her dead the other day in a hiding spot, once again trying to go broody. So, in a tribute to her, these are my two entries.

Well, I've shown this girl off many a time, just not this particular photo as much.

Brahma hen with her baby, this little trooper got attacked by a duck a few hours after she was hatched, she ended up getting her left wing torn off, and momma nearly killed the duck.
I winded up moving her and her baby into my bathtub, thinking this chick wasn't long for this world, but her mom was determined to get this little girl to survive.
Eventually they moved outside, the second day out, I found a hawk on top of her dead mother, and the baby was nowhere to be seen.
I found her baby a few hours later cowering underneath a bucket, still alive.
We named her Trooper.
