I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but being in the mountains region of Maine, we always still have 3 feet of snow this time of year. I love the outdoor photos so much, but I'm always so bummed that the snow is still here in the "spring". With the annual Easter hatch a long in mind, last July I took this photo, also to help prove that Maine does get some warm weather-

Here are our beautiful Coturnix/Japanese quail eggs

And just for fun (not an entry) I just wanted to share our Miracle. I had to help this chick hatch and I did not think it would make it. It had struggled for so long to hatch, barely making a peep (which worried me) so I helped out. After finally getting free of its egg it lay on its side twitching every now and then, still attached to its egg, all afternoon, all evening, and was still like that when I went to bed at 10pm. The next morning I got up to find it running around the incubator full of vim and vigour!!! I was sure I was going to get up and find a dead body, so it has been named Miracle.
