I was afraid to write down an actual chicken count w/ actual photographic evidence in case my DH was looking over my shoulder... but after spying @ShannonsChimkens post and after my feelings of awe and pride had subsided, my math now looks good and I have found the courage. (Thank you!!!)
So, I am no contender, just chicken proud. I have 29 total =hens, pullets, roos, cockerels and chicks. My worse was 62.These numbers only BYCers really and truly understand.
Oh, and an adopted feral flock at the pasture which only semi counts- we only feed and water and let them do their thing. OK. I've stolen eggs and rescued chicks, but I don't house. So that number is close to 50++ but I will stick to my slim 29 count at home w/o proof and wait for others numbers and photos to come in![]()

I aspire to but will need to move to a larger piece of land possibly w/o my DH who I am super fond of...You’re welcome
My chicken calculator broke a while agoJust 59 in an incubator.
What about quail?I aspire to but will need to move to a larger piece of land possibly w/o my DH who I am super fond of...thinking... hypnosis or duct tape...? Also I don't cull, just rehome and getting so many roos as part of the deal is brutal. I need to get the courage to rethink and enjoy a good soup but IDK
I actually really want geese for my next added on critterdefinitely need more land, with a lake. Maybe pheasant too.
So, how are those Emu's?!!!![]()
Quail are pretty popular here... and pretty easy right? Good call. What about quail?
