I got a great idea for my egg face entry... I already started working on it, but now I just hafta finish it off tomorrow morning and then post the pics.

Would anyone else be interested in a pet costume contest???

My kids are in the 4-H and we've often dressed our animals up for costume parades and critter contests. We could open it to any kind of pet or make it for specific species, such as only birds, etc.

Basically, you'd have to make or buy costume apparel and then take pictures of your "victim" er, uh... wonderfully-willing pet wearing the outfit of your choice. ;P (Btw, Build-a-Bear clothes fit great on pet mini lop bunnies...)

What d'ya think?

I like this idea... or also, a "live" version similar to the one earlier where people had to take a picture of them holding the print-out of Tudie. This time, perhaps it didn't matter how many people were in the picture but maybe the location was worth different amounts of points. I know I'd like an opportunity to use a pic of Tudie somewhere.

all great ideas. I love playing dress ups tho, must say ive never costumed a chicken before but i have worn a chicken costume lol
A 'best dressed' (hmm perhaps dressed isnt the word lol) comp, but a costume party, it could be a 1 off or an ongoing themed comp with a different theme each month or season. Great way for people to interact with their chickens and poultry and great for the kids to. Lots of fun 4 all. For those without chickens ummm dont know, but guess they'l find the pix cute.

I don't think anyone has suggested this for a contest idea yet: How about a joke-telling contest

- specifically the "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke

and winners could be selected for a couple of categories. 1) the most chicken jokes submitted by a BYC member

2) the funniest joke

- decided by BYC members casting votes.
Another contest idea would be for the funniest TRUE story - pertaining to animals, but not necessarily chickens. (I have a couple of those that I can't wait to submit

)
With regards to funniest stories - perhaps there could be sub-categories. Maybe one category could be pertaining to animals, as already mentioned, but other categories for funny stories could be: children, other family members, school/college related, work related, travel related, etc. With so many BYC members I'm sure there would be quite a range of stories. Limits could be set to a maximum number of words per story or perhaps each member may be limited to submitting not more than 3 or 5 stories.
