Controversial topics

But you started the thread and said you'd talk about anything. So are you only willing to talk about Creationism? Or maybe you're smart enough to know how to avoid getting your thread shut down. :thumbsup

Evolution vs. Creationism, probably can't get more Controversial than that unless you digress to what came first, the Chicken or the Egg??:idunno:idunno
Evolution for me :]

It just seems to make more sense, considering there's scientific proof of evolution and no scientific proof of creationism (y'all feel free to tell me any proof you think could change my mind). Evolution is still happening, and has been happening for a long, long time. There's a call known to be the cell everything and everyone descended from, and that doesn't line up with creationism. We're evolving ourselves, and that's evident from comparing modern human skeletons to old human-related skeletons. It just seems to make more sense to me :)

This maybe is kind of specific but do I tell people that I’m autistic? And who? When, how, etc.

Most people have preconceived notions, and I don’t fit their mold, so I get a lot of confused looks and disbelief. But when I don’t mention it and end up doing, saying or reacting in an awkward or unsuspecting manner, I get looks like I’m weird.

I often feel left out and/or don’t fit in. I can tell when someone doesn’t feel comfortable around me. But I’m not anything like their cousins neighbor’s little boy who’s autistic so they can’t comprehend that I, a 56 year old married woman, is too.
My husband is on the spectrum too. It’s got more advanced as he’s got older but he keeps denying it. At 69 it wasn’t diagnosed when he was a child. He can come out with some totally inappropriate things at times but I can usually wriggle him out of it. At gatherings he gets very stressed with the noise and often simply gets up and leaves the room. I do wish he would accept the term autism as it helps people understand. It’s easier when people know and I think you’ll be surprised how many people figure it out for themselves, especially your friends. Personally I love his focus and love. He is so kind and has a brain the size of a planet. Yes he can throw surprises at me 😂 but isn’t that life.
I would tell your friends that you are on the spectrum and be proud, you are along side Newton, Bill Gates, Dan Ackroyd, Mickalangelo, Charles Darwin and Elon Musk to name but a few. The genius’s of the world (Dan Ackryd 🤔)

You have an amazing gift, cherish it ❤️

I think it was Darwin who said: Evolution is merely a species adapting to a changing environment.

I had this on a poster that acted as a wallpaper on the back of my aquarium... not sure if I still have it, but those of us who had video gamer children, check their hands against your own and see what you see. My son is in his early 30s now and his hands lay to the side, rather than laying straight. His young body adapted to what he was doing most with it in order to accomadate the changing environment.

The world is divided on this one. Some peeps like the flavor. Others, don't claiming it tastes like soap.
There is an explanation for this. DW, is one that does not like it. She researched some into it. Turns out that she has much more refined taste buds, such that are in top wine tasting specialists as well.
I myself do like cilantro. As for wine,,, I'm fine with Mad Dog 20-20
I'll admit I was raised on parsley, but it took me until trying cilantro to realize that.
