So, your dad says yes, your mom says maybe depending what the neighbors think, and one neighbor says wait til next month?
That sounds like you are pretty much a shoo-in, there, as long as you exercise PATIENCE. Like, not bugging mom and dad and neighbor every day about it. Seriously
As a parent, and as a former kid also <g>, I would have to say that waiting a month sounds like a very sensible compromise... I know that at the moment you want chickens with every fiber of your being and have done so since birth, but it is not all that uncommon for teenagers to want something else different *next* month with every fiber of their beings and to have done so since birth
Since chickens are a long-term commitment, it makes sense from an adult perspective to see what happens.
YOU, since you actually *do* want chickens with every fiber of your being and it isn't going to change in a mere month, will just have to survive a little bit of a delay
Trust me, chickens are not going extinct by summertime
Also, in a few months you will have MUCH more time to deal with them, set things up, manage them, admire them, etc.
So I am not sure you need to do a lot other than not piss your parents and neighbors off for the next month or so
Good luck,
Pat
