List All Recipes
List by Contributor This is where we want to start our first sweep of proofing and editing by contributor name.
1. Real name - doesn't have to be first and last but should be at least their first name
2. Member name
3. State
Exceptions will be for recipes where someone else is also credited for the recipe, In those I have taken the time to edit them myself.
You shouldn't have to edit anything in those boxes but do make notes for me to check anything questionable.
If there is no member name we need to make an effort to indentify those people otherwise on final edit they may be deleted.
Send me a note and I'll add it to the list I am currently working on.
Again - you should not need to make any changes to the first 3 boxes. I have been working on these daily since we started accepting the recipes. Just help be my eyes and point anything you find that is questionable.
4.Check that the recipe has a title. No subtitles. Remove any subtitles anyone has added to their recipe. It might be more fitting for it to be moved to the notes section.
5.Catagory - check that each recipe has been listed correctly - bread is in breads and cake is in desserts and chicken stew isn't listed as a beverage, etc.
6. Select none for symbols. This costs extra and that money is better spent for divider pockets! I have tried to remove them all but just in case I have missed something.
7. Read the recipe ingredients. Make sure a recipe hasn't listed 2 CUPS of salt in place of 2 tsp salt - the big mistakes that will ruin a recipe. If you find something questionable make a list for me.
8. Read the instructions. We are look for clear directions - don't change peoples directions other than to correct misspellings and typos but read them to make sure someone hasn't replaced the instructions with something that might be off color or simply there as a space filler to see if they can get it passed us and into a published work.
9. Any recipe notes should also be read.
10. Use the spell check and let the program do the work for you.
11. Save the changes!
12. On the next screen after saving the changes check the box indicating the recipe has been proofed.
Any questions send them to me and I'll to get back to you ASAP.
