you can drown them in a pond. Tie a rope to the trap and heeve ho! i would rather kill them quickly with my new .22.

If you get a skunk, throw a tarp over the cage before moving it. They will not spray in a confined area.

It's a live and learn thing. The first trap was a borrowed one and I believe the dh bought the same brand. He is already talking upgrade but, he is a McGuyver kind of guy and will keep this one going until it turns into rust.

I got it! Woohoo!!! I set the trap again to see if there are others, but I'm 95% certain I will wake up to one of the neighbors cats...

I lost nine chickens last week. I couldn't figure out what was getting them. What ever it was , was small enough to squeeze into the coop some how. The chicks were killed during the day, around noon. I put a trap in the coop and caught a big Black Rock squirrel, around noon. I read where rock squirrels will eat berries and chicks. We have been in a bad drought so not many barries. Haven't lost a chick since. Every black squirrel that comes around, my grandson pops him wilth my 22.

On the coons, I know they are VERY smart and VERY wily. When I was a kid my Meme had one of those old metal coolers with that metal latch and this particular one was hard to turn (as they often were). Anyway, Meme and Pepere came out of their trailer to find dirty little coon prints all over the OPENED cooler, a full loaf of split top bread and a whole pepperoni stick gone. Meme said she hoped the 'roni burned out the coons arsehole for him!!
