I know the feeling, laying there in bed....wondering if you would be able to hear it if there was something after "the girls"

A week after we got our first chickens our neighbor saw a BEAR in our backyard! We live on the edge of a small town in WI, but i never expected to have to worry about a bear in the yard!

That was a year ago and thankfully our girls have never been bothered by anything.

well the "hunt" was a bust...BIL showed up and went into barn rafters and found no coon to be hiding. So we sealed up the last eave. We sat in lawn chairs hiding for over an hour and saw nothing. But baited traps with marshmellow fluff..Waiting for my coffee to finish and then going down to have a looksie!!!

get ab etter pellet gun they have ones that will kill a coon if hit right good luck

WE GOT IT!!!

hes down in trap and I took photos will cell. When I figure out how to post them on here Ill do it today Id say he's in his 2nd year-to big to be last years batch of babies but not huge adult either! He was not a happy camper when he saw me walking towards him!!!

trap will remain set all Summer Hope I dont get too many skunks though haha or the neighbors cat again! last time I trapped the cat I brought it over still in trap and asked " Is this your cat?" ( Knowing full well it was) and they were like ..."yah..why is it in a trap?" Um because we have alot of big game predetors around and I dont take chances with my birds..." Oh Yes YOUR BIRDS... We hear them all the time-when are you going to get rid of your roosters?" "Im not... its my land...Here's your cat back -keep it on your land! and the next rap wont be so friendly"...I would NEVER kill a cat but I just wanted him to know I mean business as that bugger gets in my garbage and torments my dogs through my windows! haha

I'm warrin' on coons too, Nat. They literally ripped the hardwared cloth off my pullet cage and killed 14 babies .. Now they are working on my banty coop. I threw the banties in the big-girl coop last night just to keep them safe ..

I have a plan .. and we are a-huntin' coon this weekend.
