Coop Almost Finished

Very Nice! Can I move during the gun deer season? Anyway, another question about ventilation: Do you have it set up for winter ventilation? You'll want to keep it vented, but not breezy. Especially in the UP. Very nice though! My project was a loner also. I had plenty of folks swing by to check up on it, but noe to swing a hammer. Funny thing is I'm the neighborhood fix it man, I actually have a list of "can you do me a favor things, in addition to the hunny do list. Just not enoug time in the day!

Better bring a Chain Saw and Backoe I could Draw Something up it is a fairly simple design just alot of work trying to keep everything even..

Since i Used recycled materials I spent less than 600 so far since I am on a budget I did what i could if i had to buy the roof and the all of the rough cut lumber and went with the better wire ( which i will soon) I bet it would be well into the 1800 mark..most of the lumber was cut from clearing land - a few pieces I had to purchase to finish..

Thanks Everyone. I couldnt think of everything and I thank everyone for their Input. I never thought about the Winter Ventilation. So I will buy 4 of the Register Vents and Maybee Put them onder the nest boxes close to the floor that way no rain could get in and it wont get blocked by the 3 feet of snow.. The north end would be too breasy and the south end would allow rain.. It was a hurry up project and I have made some mistakes and note to Self if I had to do Over what I would do different.. I Named it YesterDay CAMP YARD BIRD Posted A Picture and Thanks for all of the input It is much Needed

That is stunning!

My run is 2x4 farm fence with poultry netting over top. I had planned to add chicken wire around the base to keep chicks from walking through, but they grew too fast for my work schedule. I strongly recommend you put a cover over the run to keep airborne predators away from your flock.

Wow, this is a fabulous coop and would look perfect in my yard! I wish my husband had your attitude! I would not complain one single bit. Unfortunately, he feels that once he puts in his 8 hours at work that he shouldn't be required to do any work at home. Very frustrating. I have to keep telling him, if he doesn't build it, who is going to? If he would work 12 hours a day at his job, then we could afford to hire someone to build it, but he won't, so I just have to keep waiting for him to get started I guess. You did a fabulous job and your wife will be happy when the fresh eggs start rolling in! She is very lucky that you have the initiative to work so hard on a project after working all day at your job. You can be very proud of yourself. You will have lots of little helpers to gather the eggs as well it looks like!
