That is coming out really nice!! What do you have down on the floor? It looks like tile and it is very purty!! We are busy building our first coop as well and hubby has been pulling out all his big boy toys! Have to say the table saw and watching him cut some 2x4 studs free hand made me nervous! Will enjoy watching your progress on this project - looking GREAT so far!

Its just OSB board on the floor. However tile is a good idea...hmmm. I may just paint it to help waterproof it and then put down a few inches of pine shavings. Who knows though still brainstorming.

Great looking coop so far. we brought out toys to build mine, but none of us are anywhere close to carpenters lol. but we had fun.

I'll be checking back to see the progress and maybe get a few more ideas....don't know if ill build one (college student budget lol) but its nice to hope!!

Good Luck.

I loving watching pictures of coops being raised. Makes me really want to take a course in building sheds. Really really. I threatened my husband with that idea last night. He laughed, I think it's because he's afraid I'll follow thru.

Anyway - about the cement blocks - I think that's a good idea for a foundation, as long as they don't sink into the dirt like mine probably would because my lot is fairly damp, but wouldn't that be a good place for critters to hang out? I'd be afraid maybe a fox would make a nice home under there...

Thinking about one of those electric fence deals like you see on the inside of dog pens to keep them from digging out except on the outside to keep animals from getting in. Not sure yet but def some chicken wire going down there.
