I'm so so sorry...those poor chickens dying in such a horrific way. The universe was not being nice at all on this one. Poor babies.

I'm soo sorry this happened to your babies. I know I would be devastated. There is hope, though. Eggs will keep a long time...think about how long a hen waits before she has enough to set on a nest. If you go ahead and put those eggs in a carton, pointed end down at a 45 degree angle, and turn them at least once a day, you should have many of them still fertile by the time your other eggs arrive. You'll be able to put them in with those and probably have some hatch.
