I'm with you all the way on the unexpected expense and difficulty of building a coop. But it's done now, the chickens will be laying their eggs, and you have some lovely photos of the experience to share with your friends, who will probably tease you for the rest of your life about this incident. I hope you had health insurance.

Nice coop and run. I understand the pain. My accident wasn't nearly as bad as yours (nail from the nailgun instead of going straight down came out at a 90 degree and and through my finger). After ER trip for x-ray, tetnanus and antibiotics, I was back out the next day to work on the darn coops again (one for chickens and small one for guineas). Had to get the birds out to their new home. It was very important for sanity. LOL. Can't believe you did the roof twice. Our plywood warped after getting wet, and we just used it, though most of our wood was culled wood anyway. Of course that means our coop doesn't look nearly as nice as yours.

Fantastic Looking Coop!

Not being a stickler or anything but Coup de Gra is actually spelled Coup de Grace, although Coup de gra is the correct pronunciation, I love the pun Coop De Gra(ce). Just thought I'd throw that in in case you are making a sign or something.

BTW lots of people misspell it Coup de Gras for some reason.

nice coop. sorry about your hand. i feel your pain, i got a three inch piece of pressure treated wood in my foot last year that took 2 surgeries to fix. as soon as i was better i tore the deck down.
