JUST STARTING OUT, NEED SOME HELP ON WHATS THE BEST TO PUT DOWN ON PEN FLOOR? EASY CLEANING LESS SMELL, 5 TO8 CHOOKS

i use cedar shavings. some say they use pine.

Cedar is poisonous to chickens i believe.
I advise using pine.

I am also new at this but I have heard play sand is safe. not too expensive either.

i use linolium for easy cleaning. then layered Pine shavings. I think there's something about Cedar shavings that is dangerous. someone else would know more than I would about that

I will be using pine shavings over the laminate floor I installed. The back side of my coop has a large door that I can just sweep everything right out and into a trash container. I have similiar things about cedar shavings, not to use them. Hope that helps.
