Without seeing a photo, my first thought would be to replace whatever it's got for a roof with a metal roof that has a generous overhang.

And, when doing so, raise the roof up so that you've got a ventilation gap under it:

It’s a charity to help build houses for people who can’t afford a home. People volunteer to help build these homes, and the recipient must help too. So the Restore is a store where you can donate stuff to help them raise $, and often it has leftover building materials, windows, doors, etc. Often a very useful resource for people building chicken coops! If you live in the USA, see if there’s a Restore near you.....
