Mine face north. It's the way it had to be here, I didn't have a choice, but I think it's probably best as our weather never comes from the north so I never have to close them. As far as light - it hasn't been an issue. They go in before the sun sets & it's not too dark for them to get situated. I do agree that facing south would probably get it really hot in there in the summer. If I had a choice I would leave them facing north because of the weather.HI @Sueby
Which directions do the windows on your coop face? North? South? East? West?
I‘m trying to figure out the best direction to fact the coop windows. Do I face them South so the get tons of light from the sun or North where they will be shaded?
Since there are no windows in the back of the coop, I was concerned if I face it North it will be too dark. Then again, if I face it South, there might be too much Summer sun.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
