Coop Siding

Hello, looking for some direction on what type of siding to put on the outside of my new chicken coop. I have been modeling my coop after this one posted in these forums, https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/my6chickss-chicken-coop.48542/ This coop doesn't have much detail and I was looking for cheapest/best material to use on the outside, I have the big box stores nearby, home depot, Lowes. Any suggestions appreciated.

That coop was made with shiplap and than painted to protect the wood. You could use the 4x8 sheets of wood siding. We have used it straight and with plywood underneath for more stability.

In used smart siding on my coop, it holds up real good. You could use plywood, it would be a little cheaper but you will have to cover the seams also.
