I think it's a personal preference
I rake out my run and put the poo in my compost pile, some folks let it compost in the run.(I just can't stand looking at all that poo, lol)

I could look at it all day. I just don't want to smell it!! Do you have a raised coop?I think it's a personal preferenceI rake out my run and put the poo in my compost pile, some folks let it compost in the run.(I just can't stand looking at all that poo, lol)
No smell? You can't even tell that there's poop in my run, it just blends in with the mix of other stuff.
Yep! Their names are Pirate, Coconut, and Zigzag.Good to know!!
I have to ask, 3 hermit crabs?
It's rained tons here in the last 3 years, before that there was a drought. It's hit or miss for this area. I will be getting some DE as well. When my run gets wet (and STINKY) I turn all the stuff and mix it around (it'll get packed down and gross) and then add a LOT of sand and pine shavings (these are both very dry materials) and mix that around again. That basically fixes the smell problem instantly.
DE doesn't actually do much to prevent parasites and can cause respiratory issues. However, Sweet PZD is super helpful for managing smell. It's rained tons here in the last 3 tears, before that there was a drought. It's hit or miss for this area. I will be getting some DE as well.
