Hello all, 'fairly newbie' chicken mama here, excited to be part of the BYC community! I come here VERY often and would love to chime in, share, and interact with equally cooky chicken mamas & daddys.

I was flung head first into this mania when I 'got' (long story for its own post soon) my first chicken about a year ago, May 2022, and since then the chicken math has hit and added 16 more (lost 2), which I consider a lot for someone who never had, intended to get, knew anything about, or even (in person) seen a chicken.

I'm a bit spotty on the breeds, but I have a mix: 2 welsummers, 2 black astralorps, 2 white leghorns, 2 RIRs, 3 americaunas, 1 EEs, 1 golden sexlink, 1 cuckoo maran, and 1 sapphire gem. Add in my 2 cats and 7 dogs, and you'll understand why I'm a worrier, but bursting with love for my makeshift, suburban, circus-side-show, farm/zoo.

Picture of my first baby, for whom I blame for the madness that has become my everyday... I don't regret a thing!
