Hi Guys and Girls
I am looking at protecting my coop and then want to paint it so it looks nice in the garden. Please can someone tell me what i can use that will not harm my hens. Also when is the best time to do this.

The best time to paint is when the weather is about 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Any latex paint that is water based should be fine for your birds. They have a lot of great new fast-drying paint products out there. The dryer the weather, the better.
Take Care,
Sunny & the 5 egg layers

And use exterior semi gloss even in the worst conditions will last 5 + years

If you want to save a lot of maintenance down the road, I would recommend a semi-transparant latex stain. Paint is problematic when it deteriorates..lost of scraping and prep etc
