Cooptender coop door problems help needed

When I am coming home from work it’s already to dark to do anything but next weekend I will take the door out (only way to get to the battery) and try to run it solely with AC. If it’s working fine I know it has to do with battery/ solar- if it is still not working I will scrap it for parts. Thank you all for your input - it’s highly appreciated. I will keep you updated next weekend

Please don't scrap it before contacting me about buying it.

So - I took the door out, opened it up and removed the battery and hooked it up with DC - dead, nothing works, so is with a fully charged battery. Than I hooked the battery up where it would connect to the solar panel and it works. So somehow it only works with the solar wiring and not with the provided AC/DC wiring - any idea why?

Here is a picture of the inside - I cant see any loose connections or off connections

Here is a picture with the wires we got it to work. I think there might be something wrong with the switch part where the fuses sit in. But I can’t see anything wrong with it all connections look sound, the fuses are brand new. The wires which connect the solar panel don’t go through the switch and I guess that is why it’s working.

I presume you meant AC instead of DC. If the unit powered by AC alone does nothing, check the AC fuse. There's a little pullout compartment by the AC socket. It has the AC fuse and a spare fuse.

Both fuses are brand new and intact.
We hooked the door up now with a solar controller we had spare and power the coop with the solar panel - controller- battery set up. I guess we will see tonight if it is working.

Disconnect the battery completely (don't let the loose contacts touch anything; cover them with tape). Then try it on AC alone (after you've checked the AC fuse).

When you hook it up using AC alone do you get lights on the panel? If not do you have a voltmeter to see if power is getting to the load side of the switch?
