So I recently started introducing my ducklings to the outdoors (15 WH, hatched week of June 1) and about half of them are having reddish poop. It started yesterday after their second trip outside (I noticed it after I brought them in, their “travel carrier” had some red poop in it) so I started adding acv to their water and got some corid just in case. Here is a picture of what I’m talking about. It happened right in front of me while I was about to clean their brooder so I thought id go ahead and post.
I separated the 15 into two groups of 7 and 8 by size. The large group is the one that is affected. they are all acting as normal as I can make out. If anything they are all more active. Like I said they are in separate stock tank brooders but are in the same room. I was planning on moving them outside permanently in the next few days into a run large enough to house them until adulthood. Should I just continue acv and roll the dice? Or go ahead and treat?
Also for future reference either way dosage for ducks and ducklings would be helpful, please and thank you.
