On day 8 of Corid, 5 five week old chicks. Was dosing for severe and today am dosing preventative for another week. They are moving in with a three others who do not cocci for integration into the hens in a couple of weeks. Will it be fine if the others are also drinking the same water dosed for preventative for them?

Yes, it's safe for them all. While integrating I would keep close watch for any others who may become ill, just in case the babies are carrying a strain that the others have not been exposed to.

Thank you for the reply. I just wanted to make sure as never had to deal with this before. :)

Unfortunately coccidiosis is all too common.
This 13 minute video is very informative and worth the time to watch when you have the time, post #1 in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/coccidiosis-video-worth-watching.1262022/#post-20259051
Thanks for the link to the video. Mine got it, I think, from a plate of dirt to dustbathe in. Feeding non medicated starter and about 2 weeks old, was bringing them outside for a bit. Had a plate of dirt so they could dustbathe in and that's where they might have picked it up from. Their quarters were kept clean, water was via a chicken nipple, fresh daily and feed kept clean.

Entirely possible. I always start them with a dish of dirt beginning the first week in the brooder to scratch and dig in so that they are exposed to the microbes in the soil and have a chance to build some resistance naturally, same way they would if being raised by a broody hen. They get a daily 'dirt party'. I have much reduced my incidence of outbreaks this way. But it can still happen and I always have Corid on hand so I can start treatment quickly if it's necessary. I have never used medicated starter, just my preference, I'd rather treat if necessary rather than give them something they may not need. But many people swear by medicated starter, so really personal preference. I haven't had an out break in about 3 1/2 years now (knock on wood!).
