Corid not working

With 12 week old chickens, you are safer going straight to the severe outbreak dose, because they are more susceptible to die from an outbreak compared to adults.

In the original post it is said they used 2tsp per 5 quarts. Which is a high dosage, higher than most people are reccomending in fact, but not by much.

Is it ok to put the probiotics in with the corid? I know I can’t put vitamins in with the corid.

I would switch to SMZ-TMP for 7 days, then dose 5 days straight with safeguard liquid goat wormer.
There are strains of cocci that respond to corid which are protozoa. Then strains that are bacterial in which a sulfa drug will treat, that corid will not treat.
Capillary worms can cause sloughing of bloody intestinal lining also. Five days with safeguard will treat them if that's what it is. It will also treat all other types of roundworms.
Eprinex has lost its effectiveness treating poultry worms. This is from past experience.

Note that sloughing of intestinal lining looks very different from bloody stool. One looks like pink or red-tinged stringy material in otherwise normal stool and solid matter, while the other is bloody red liquid that persists and splats but not a cecal poop which is also smelly.

If you post pictures, we can try to help diagnose whether you are dealing with cocci or something else. A fecal float from a vet is helpful if you think they may have worms or want to test to see what exactly is going on.

While there may be bacteria that cause symptoms similar to cocci, and cocci can damage the intestinal lining which could lead to bacterial infections, there is no such thing as bacterial coccidia. Cocci are protozoa. Therefore Corid is the best choice of treatment for cocci, IF that is in fact what you are dealing with.

Probiotics shouldn't interfere with the Corid, if you're giving liquid probiotics. It wouldn't be recommended if you are dosing with antibiotics though.
