Corn fed chickens

America is the chief supplier for livestock corn to the world. So it is generally cheaper here than other places. Adding corn to the diet is a premium in say Germany. It is much more expensive than the regular grains encountered there. Corn is very fattening compared to other grains. In turn they have a chicken with a good flavor so it requires a premium. Also the techniques of growing in Europe are much different. Europeans would croak if they saw the crowded conditions of most brands of American poultry. Not to mention the additives the poultry get here while growing and after butchering. Corn fed in Europe is supposed to mean exactly that a chicken that is bigger and tastier. Just like corn fed beef in America. More marbling form the fat in beef equals more flavor.
